A lot of retro games and emulators need DirectX 9.0c to run, otherwise you get an error message like d3dx9_39.dll missing or d3dx9_43.dll is missing.
Installing DirectX 9.0c on Windows 10 is safe, because DirectX 9.0c can co-exist with the DirectX versions which are already installed on your Windows system. Nothing will be overwritten and everything will keep working as it should.
* Note: The fastest and easiest way to install the requirements is to use the “Install Requirements” button in the Retro Stick, Which will automatically install everything for you.
If you see an option to “Repair” or “Uninstall” be sure to choose “Repair.” IE: DO NOT choose “Uninstall.”
A message box will open at the very end and tell you “The Retro stick has finished installing the system requirements now. Please reboot your computer before you continue!” Do not reboot until you have installed everything and see this message.
